Graduation 2019
John 6:65-69 (KJV)
And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

Options-
Graduation is, among other things the opportunity to select options

When we are younger, we have fewer personal options
Limited by the choices of our parents:
·   Where we live
·   How money is spent
·   What priorities we have

And there is an excellent reason for that. If children had no limitations, most of them would not survive to reach adulthood.

Some of us just barely did anyway.

Graduation, in theory, relaxes if not eliminates those limitations
It’s as if,
A great door and effectual is opened unto me ...
1 Corinthians 16:9 (KJV)
For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

Just remember that with open doors there will also be adversaries.

Your personal choices determine, not whether you face adversaries, but what adversaries you face.

Options
Where can you go?
To the world
2 Timothy 4:10 (KJV)
For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, …

To religious shallowness
John 6:66 (KJV)
From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Preachers of the past have aptly pointed out that this verse is labeled “666.”

There had been multitudes following Jesus when they thought He would defeat the Romans or feed them for free.

But when He got serious about spiritual things, they scattered.

To the Lord
John 6:68-69
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

As far as Simon was concerned, he had no options.
Notice what he said
We believe and are sure.
Some people say they believe in Christ, but they aren’t sure they want to devote their lives to Christ.

Peter was convicted.
He couldn’t get over it.

He was so sure in what he believed that he had no options.

He had three convictions that constrained him…
1. Only He has Words of life
2. He is the Christ, the Saviour
3. He is the Son of the Living God

Conclusion
Where will you go from here?
